Applicable skills for candidates include, but are not limited to legal, marketing, communications, fundraising, development and outreach, theology, education, project management, data or event management, administration, finance, or planning. 

Interested candidates should submit a short statement telling us a little about yourself and your experience to info@lorettotrust.org. Please indicate if you are an alumna, parent, or other interested party. Let us know which position and committee(s) you prefer, and how you wish to serve (e.g. event or project management, fundraising, administration, writing, etc.). 

At-large board member qualifications, general duties, and attributes. 

General qualifications include:

• Saint Mary’s College alumnae EXCEPT that two directors may be parents of students currently attending Saint Mary’s College at the time they are elected. 
• Practicing Catholics who support the Catholic Church's requirements for Catholic higher education as described in the Vatican document, Ex corde Ecclesiae, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops' "Application of Ex corde Ecclesiae for the United States" and the Code of Canon Law.  
• Other qualified individuals may be elected to the board under limited special circumstances approved by the board. 
• Directors shall receive no compensation for their work as board members other than reasonable expenses for business conducted on behalf of the organization.
• Each director shall be elected to the board for a term of three years. 

General duties include:

• Attend and actively engage in board meetings,
• Serve on at least one committee, and
• Support board decisions.

Operations Committee: Areas of responsibility include legal, administrative, database and digital systems management, and board orientation.

Finance Committee: Areas of responsibility include budgeting, financials, compliance, planning, resource management, and insurance.

Membership Committee: Areas of responsibility include subscriber development and volunteer recruitment, management and onboarding.

Communications Committee: Areas of responsibility include public relations, media, research, internal communications, official statements, marketing, and content development.

Development Committee: Areas of responsibility include fundraising, donor activities, and network mentoring.

Outreach Committee: Areas of responsibility include stakeholder relations, student and faculty activities, and educational programming.

Apostolate Committee: Areas of responsibility include prayer and worship initiatives and Campus Ministry.

Board committee member qualifications, general duties and attributes include:  

• Possess the same general qualifications and duties as board directors.
• Board members or volunteers may serve on multiple committees. 
• Possess unique knowledge, experience or resources regarding the board committee’s purpose.  
• Be motivated to work with others towards a common goal. 
• Be available for committee meetings and projects. 
• Create ad hoc work committees when needed.

In addition to possessing all the qualifications and requirements of committee members, committee leaders:

• Help guide the activities of the committee
• Report to the board of directors, and 
• Communicate the needs and requests of the committee.
